Sons of Confederate Veterans / Oklahoma Division 2016 Convention
Welcome to the web site of the Oklahoma Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans! The SCV is an international, non-profit historical heritage society with almost 30,000 members. We are dedicated to preserving the true history of the Confederacy. In Oklahoma, the SCV has several local organizations, known as Camps. Our Camps engage in a variety of activities and special projects such as sponsoring living history demonstrations in schools and reenactments, marking Confederate graves, and preserving historic sites.

Oklahoma -- formerly known as Indian Territory -- is rich in its Confederate Oklahoma history and connections to the Confederacy. All five of the "Civilized Tribes" (Cherokee, Creek, Seminole, Choctaw, and Chickasaw) officially allied with the Confederate States of America and fought in the War for Southern Independence. Stand Watie, the famous Cherokee Confederate leader, was also the only American Indian on either side to rise to a Brigadier General's rank
during the War.
